Action Research Village

The enormous potential of Right to Information Act to attain far reaching results reinstated the fact that the condition of the nation will change if villagers start using their Right to Information judiciously. Keeping this in mind an year long campaign was jointly launched in December 2006 with partners Poorest Area Civil Society Project (PACS) and ABSS from Dehat, the campaign was focused on bringing RTI to five villages in various districts of Uttar Pradesh. The villagers were trained and encouraged to file a minimum of 300 RTI applications on various issues from each village; the impacts of the year long campaign were tremendous resulting in a district wide dispersal of RTI awareness and usage.
